Jakarta Joins Asia Golf Tourism Convention 2026

The Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency, in collaboration with the Indonesian Golf Course Owners Association (APLGI), took part in the Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) 2026 at Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel, Thailand, from March 23–25, 2026.

"...for Jakarta to expand its reach among international tourists,"

The delegation included Olivia Chandra of Baltic Golf and Travel, a member of APLGI.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head Andhika Permata said the participation marked a strategic step to position Jakarta as a leading destination for golf and urban tourism on the global stage.

He noted that the delegation is targeting on the golf tourism segment, which is known for its high-spending travelers and longer stays.

"This annual forum organized by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) serves as a crucial platform for Jakarta to expand its reach among international tourists," he said on Friday (3/27).

Andhika added that the Jakarta delegation actively held intensive meetings with hundreds of global golf tour operators through a series of business-to-business (B2B) sessions, promoting its unique value proposition, "The Ultimate Urban Golf Experience".

The concept integrates world-class championship golf courses with easy access to premium shopping centers, luxury accommodations, as well as Indonesia's rich cultural and culinary offerings.

"Jakarta's participation in AGTC 2026 is a concrete step to show that the city has highly ready sport tourism infrastructure. We are not just offering golf courses, but a complete urban tourism ecosystem where sports, business, and entertainment come together," he explained.

He added that the collaboration with APLGI ensures that the products offered to global partners meet the highest service standards. Beyond golf promotion, Jakarta's presence at AGTC 2026 also aims to:

1. Open new partnership opportunities by building networks with global tourism industry players focused on special interest tourism.

2. Promote synergy between MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) and golf through combined packages.

3. Advance service digitalization by introducing integrated digital platforms for reservations and access to golf facility information for international tourists.

"Through its participation in AGTC 2026, Jakarta is optimistic about significantly increasing international tourist arrivals and accelerating creative economy growth through sustainable tourism," he emphasized.
